Carrie Loeb (b. 1974) is an abstract artist living and working in Bellingham, Washington. Her work is a reflection of the beauty and tranquility of the water and land that surrounds her in the Pacific Northwest. Loeb’s formative years were spent on Whidbey Island, an experience that deeply instilled in her an appreciation for living in close proximity to the Puget Sound. The process in which she abstracts the landscape is not confined to a singular image. Each piece is a blend of memories layered upon one another, giving rise to a new yet intimately familiar locale. Working intuitively allows the emotion of those memories to become one with the landscape imparting a sense of comfort, calm, and stillness that tends to encompass us when we experience these moments in nature.
